Work smarter not harder
How to use breaks to improve concentration and boost wellbeing
Heavy workloads and tight deadlines, together with an almost constant stream of virtual meetings, make it hard to remember we're not designed to be sat down focusing and processing all day long.
Unlike the machines we work with our ability to concentrate, think creatively and make decisions diminishes over time.
However, if you take regular breaks, you can pay attention for longer and get more done.
This one-hour workplace wellbeing session combines the findings of effort-recovery science with how to work with the brain's natural rhythms so that attendees understand how taking short, intentional breaks throughout the day restores our capacity to think, communicate and work well.

What people say
Lunch + Learn
Work less, achieve more :)
The session was engaging, informative, practical and useful.
It was especially helpful to learn abut the brain's natural rhythms and to think about the structure of my day.
Helped me recognise how I can support myself. We all need to feel less guilty about taking breaks. This helps legitimise them.

Lunch & Learn
Perfect introduction to mindfulness
If you want to learn about mindfulness then this is a perfect introduction. The Taste of Mindfulness session was very well structured and helped me learn the truth about mindfulness. I particularly liked the exercise where we were asked to observe the mind whilst looking at an image on a slide - really helped you understand how your brain does its own thing! I also liked seeing everyone's comments in the chat when asked for our thoughts at different points during the session and Tracey's response as she read them out.
