Worklife Mindfulness Course

Learn how to reduce stress and enhance wellbeing in just 6 weeks
Outline

Interest in learning mindfulness continues to grow.

It's no surprise; being mindful has been shown to enhance wellbeing, improve personal effectiveness and increase our ability to cope with challenging situations.

Becoming mindful is more than simply being able to pay attention to the present moment. You also need to learn how to use such a skill and that's where courses come in.

A course in mindfulness offers a means to not just develop your ability to be mindful but also know how to benefit from it in daily life.

But not everyone can, or wants to, learn in a group setting.

Whatever the reason, I can help you learn mindfulness at a time and pace that's right for you.

My 6-week, 1-2-1 course is designed to help you develop your ability to pay attention to the present moment whilst simultaneously increasing self-awareness and managing your emotions so you can deal more skillfully with whatever life presents.

Course outline

This 6-week course uses the Workplace Mindfulness Training (WorkplaceMT) model developed by The Mindfulness Exchange, a spin-off from the UK's Oxford Mindfulness Centre.

Based on an NHS-approved mindfulness course, this evidence-led programme of sessions combines psycho-education, mindfulness theory, regular practice and experiential insight to increase greater self-knowledge, awareness and management.

By the end of this one-to-one course, you will learn how mindfulness can be brought to all aspects of your life.

Session content

In just six sessions via online video conferencing platforms like Teams or Zoom, I will share with you all you need to begin to benefit from being mindful.

Each week you will learn about different facets of mindful awareness, psychological principles and neuroscience research findings to help you to better understand the workings of the mind and how to bring mindfulness to life.

Each session includes meditation practice and discussion so you feel confident using your new skill.

The programme is designed so that each session builds on previous ones. By the end you will have a thorough understanding of what mindfulness is and how to use it in daily life.

This course is the first step to bring mindfulness to all aspects of your life.

Who should attend?

Anyone who wants to learn how to bring mindfulness to life at a time that is convenient for them.

Please Note: This mindfulness course is not designed to be therapeutic.  If you have any concerns in this regard then it is recommended that you speak to a suitably qualified counsellor and, perhaps, learn in a clinical setting.

Duration

So that your ability to pay attention and your capacity to be mindful increases over time, the course is delivered in six modules with a different attention exercise (meditation) taught in each time.

It is designed to be delivered over a 6-week period. However, as it is taught one to one, the timing of the sessions is flexible and can be taught over a longer period if needed.

Your commitment

Weekly 1.5 hr training session + formal and informal practice (30 mins/day)

Practice is key, it literally rewires your brain.

If you cannot currently commit to regular daily practice then this course is not for you right now.

Dates

All my mindfulness course slots are full at the moment so I can not work with anyone else right now. I will be taking on new trainees from early November.

As not many people offer 1-2-1 teaching, places get booked up fast. Get in touch as soon as you think you might like to do the course with me.

Thinking you'd like to learn mindfulness?

I know deciding to sign up for a course you've found on the internet can feel somewhat risky.  That's why I offer everyone the chance to have a chat with me and attend a mindfulness introduction session before signing up.
